What people are are saying about iR3

“In over 20 years of policing I have been constantly disappointed with what IT can offer operational policing. iR3 is the first system which constantly surprises me with what we can achieve with it...”
Superintendent Cottrill, Leicester Police

“This force has been using a commercial system, iR3 to improve how they map their response units more closely to demand. The system is an IT tool that maps in real time where incidents are taking place. This is linked to command and control incident data, duty rotas and skills/accreditation data; which is in turn linked to automatic tracking devices for vehicles and Airwave radios. The tool can also look retrospectively at where a vehicle has gone throughout a shift. Early evaluation of the pilot suggests that there has been a dramatic reduction in self-deployment, substantially reducing multiple deployment and improving response times through automatic identification and deployment of the nearest available unit. Officer time spent in priority areas has significantly increased, and there are sizable savings in mileage and through the disposal of underused vehicles. Focus group findings suggest that, in addition to managers and supervisors, officers are convinced by the system. They are happy that workloads are more evenly shared, and safety is improved (units can be deployed more quickly to support officers in need of back-up).”
The Review of Policing, Sir Ronnie Flanagan, Final Report January 2008 p33

“I have one hell of a battle to convince the community that the Police are here patrolling and that policing is not the same as 30 years ago. The Police can be effective, iR3 is an example of this. The community can have an input on priority locations. iR3 helps us monitor what the Police are doing, taking our concerns to heart and acting on them.”
Professor Brian Kelk, NHW Principle Co-ordinator for Bottesford Village

“I have noticed a reduction of damage to our buildings on campus. There has also been a significant decrease in other forms of vandalism.”
Mr. Roberts, Senior Site Manager, King Edward VII School Melton

“After my initial doubts about the spy in the sky monitoring capabilities of iR3 and what it would be used for, I was able to see the benefits in reassuring the public that priority areas are regularly attended. It’s made my reporting to the community and parish councils easier.”
PC Mark Longden, PBO

“Prior to iR3 I honestly only really knew my own shift’s neighbourhoods problems. I was unsure of other shift’s priority locations. I now know the locations of all our station’s priority area Waymarkers and have been visiting them regularly.”
LPO Natasha Hazlewood
